Energy industry uses whale activists to aid anti-wind farm strategy
- gardenfelder 3y ago>Unwitting whale advocates and rightwing thinktanks create the impression that offshore wind energy projects endanger cetaceans
- ZeroGravitas 3y agoThis is expected from fossil fuel companies, but the involvement of people who portray themselves as "pro-nuclear" in this kind of thing is I think an admission that they are more "anti-renewable" than they are "pro-nuclear". From their FAQ: > SRWC and its members recognize industrial renewables cannot realistically power global economies and that other forms of energy are needed. We are still developing our position with regard to climate change, nuclear, and natural gas, as well as other technologies, like carbon capture and storage. Some of SRWC's members are pro-nuclear, others are pro-natural gas. For now, we are simply opposed to industrial offshore wind projects.
