>Imagine Europe and Russia aligned, such that Schengen stretched from The Hague to Anadyr.
>Russia and Europe getting along would be great for the world.
Russia has _no_ interest in getting along with anybody else in the world and seek to dominate. When their insidious plans started to fail in Ukraine they resorted to force.
Why on earth would European counties _ever_ align with such a despotic collection of peoples? They're completely unable to form even a semi-functioning democracy for any period of time and soon descend into despotism the moment you take your eye off them for 2 minutes. Hard lessons are being re-learned in European capitals after our failure to deter the laughably ambitious megalomania of current Russian leaders.
Now Ukraine and Europe aligned, I get that. I believe they have the possibility to be an excellent political and economic partner in the EU.
- boffinAudio 3y ago>Russia has _no_ interest in getting along with anybody else in the world and seek to dominate. That is false and entirely a prejudiced idea. Your three minutes hate is over.
- gfedtbyby 3y agoIs it? When was the last time Russia wasn't trying to be an expansionist empire? Just saying that something is "false" is really not enough to disprove it.
- boffinAudio 3y agoDemonstrate to me that you have observed Russia's attempts at peace-making in the last 20 years, and then we can have a discussion. If all you have to base your argument on is what you've learned in mainstream western media, I'm afraid you're not informed. Mainstream western media is literally owned by the same people who make the bombs that are dropped every twenty minutes on innocent people around the world... Russia has made plenty of attempts at peaceful relations with its neighbors. It has been rebuffed countless times because peace with Russia won't make anyone any profit.
- gfedtbyby 3y agoNobody was at war with Russia over the last 20 years. > If all you have to base your argument on is what you've learned in mainstream western media, I'm afraid you're not informed As opposed to Russian state media or deranged fringe conspiracy theorists? If you said something like this instead: NAZI GERMANY has made plenty of attempts at peaceful relations with its neighbors. It has been rebuffed countless times because peace with GERMANY won't make anyone any profit. You would sound about the same as you do now. Russia is not entitled to a zone of influence in Eastern Europe, it does not own Ukraine or the Baltic States for that matter. It's objectively an imperialist pseudo-fascist revanchist state...
- boffinAudio 3y agoNever mind state media, or owned corporate military industrial media. What is the official state policy that you are referring to, which leads you to make these conclusions about Russia. Actual policies, which the government follows. Not what you've been told to think about it - what the stated policies actually are? Because if you're not referring to official state doctrine that drives the execution of that governments actions, all you're doing is pushing propaganda for your own side ... But I guess there's a fairly low chance that you've actually studied Duma policies. Its about as likely that you're familiar with the CFR doctrine which leads America to invade and demolish other sovereign states with impunity, too...
- chrysler 3y agoFunny that you accuse him of "not studying Duma policies". Unlike in the west, Russian parliament has as much power as Reichstag had in Nazi Germany. It yields no actual power. They are button-pushers who do as they are told, or get replaced.
