People complaining about capitalism are like teenagers complaining about parents
- anigbrowl 3y ago'Yet you participate in society! Curious! I am very intelligent.' https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/we-should-improve-society-somewhat https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/we-should-improve-society-som... PG's comments here are trite and shallow. This isn't even an essay arguing his case, just a clickbaity aphorism. The low quality of the replies speaks for itself.

- kergonath 3y agoOr thinking, for that matter
- coldtea 3y agoIf their parents historically and now, had workers desperate for work working to the bone with no regard to them as human, no safety, horrible conditions, for substinence wages, had kids working in factories, could not care less about human life, safety, community and environmental impact, unless they were forced to by law (often after fiercy resisting demands for change, inluding with murderous thugs used against their workers), have destroyed the environment with their blatant disregard of externalities, operated sweatshops throughout the world (and when they could, in the USA too) while pocketing huge profit margins, made goverments do their bidding domestically and abroad (including establishing dictatorships to safeguard or push for their interests), pushed for neoliberal reforms which in the couse of 50 years made healthcare, education, and housing out of reach for many, while bringing working conditions and everything else (including product quality) in a race to the bottom, tried to establish, secure, and exploit monopolies, avoid paying taxes with loopholes they bribed to pass into law, were blatant narcisissts and sociopaths, and, in general, would sell heroin to babies if it was legal (or they knew they'd could get away with it with some small fine), then those people 100% have a point against their parents...
- JoeAltmaier 3y agoYet we have a real opportunity to run our society on something other than capitalism, if that would work better for us. Credit for social good; a UBI for basic subsistence; hell even a digitally brokered barter system are all possible. Capitalism is 'obvious' to those with money and power. But it is not inevitable, as we are led to believe.
