I’ve personally opted to simply turn off my video in all calls and force them to be audio-only. I do this for the reasons in the OP but also to subtly encourage others to opt for audio-only and to make the space more equitable for all. Sometimes I’m the only one without a video but it doesn’t seem to bother those I work with so I keep doing it. I find this to be best, tbh.
