I have a lot of negative feelings toward anyone who thinks in the way necessary to ask the question "why is youth unemployment rising?". You have to be one of the worst types of people to see it as "unemployment" or "joblessness". It's obvious that the only purpose of a person under capitalism is to be a mindless machine to generate infinite magic capitalism points for the parasites to throw down their bottomless pits.
16-24 year olds working should be an anomoly. It's a sad world when one can notice a "trend" in rising child unemployment. That means it was happening even more before now.
- caditinpiscinam 3y agoI agree that peoples' lives and worth are seen through a capitalist lens. I consider capitalism a failure, and it interests me to see others expressing similar views on hacker news and elsewhere online. It seems like people are more skeptical of capitalism and work than they were even a few years ago, and I wonder why.
- fithisux 3y agoCapitalism was a DoA approach. But it is still around not because of its effectiveness but as an alibi for greed and racism.
- MattGaiser 3y agoUnless unemployment is defined substantially differently in China, the only people counted are those who want to work. So these are people who graduated and now cannot find jobs, even though they want them.
