Correlation is not causation.
- hsjqllzlfkf 3y agoSo what is causation, tell us? Because, everything we ever observe in life are correlations.
- aatd86 3y agoCausation is a set of 2 correlations in somewhat inverse directions. Or if correlation is a function, causation referes to such a function that would be inversible.

- aatd86 3y agoNo what I said, Mr Galaxy Brain. If the pavement is wet and there are clouds, there is correlation but not causation. Might have spilled a beer or something. However if I can show that the pavement is wet because it rained and if it rains, then the pavement is going to get wet, I have a clearly established causation. (in general ceteris paribus). What kind of Phd do you have again? :o)
- shivaraj1996 3y agoI would say "Causation" is when an effect can be explained by a provable deterministic mechanism.
