- amichail 3y agoDon’t you think it is strange that operating systems don’t let you rewind what you see on the screen as a built-in feature?
- warrenm 3y agowhahuh? you want your OS to video everything you do all day?
- amichail 3y agoFor efficiency, it could take screenshots whenever it seems important to do so.
- pwg 3y agoHow do you propose for "it" to determine "important to do so"?
- amichail 3y agoThere could be a general heuristic that can be overridden by application heuristics since applications have a better idea of when the important moments are.
- warrenm 3y agoCare to define what such a heuristic might look like? And who says "applications have a better idea of when the important moments are"?
- geoah 3y agoI do take screenshots pretty often (multiple times a day) and have a screenshot folder going back to very early 2000s. I now and then will look for stuff there and bump into weird things. (Was looking for suprnova screenshots the other days for some weird reason but didn’t find one). Been meaning to try rewind.ai but for some reason I can’t seem to give it permission to record my screen and can’t be bothered to look into why.
- warrenm 3y ago"efficiency"?! How is it "efficient" to record your screen all the time?!
- amichail 3y agoI mean taking screenshots at key moments would be more efficient than a constant video capture.
- warrenm 3y agodefine "key moment" How do you know that is a "key moment"? Vs what happened 72 minutes before that triggered the "key moment" you thought was "key", but was really just the final problem form a cascade?
