There was nothing OP could have done here. The fix was already merged. He's just asking for a tagged release. You cannot submit a PR or contribute to the project in a way to make this happen. If you think any business will go through a multi-week procurement and contract negotiation process valued at multiple thousands of dollars just to get a release tagged on Github, I have bad news for you. This is on the maintainer.

And there was nothing that we could do about it. mhils was a made man and ibm guy wasn't. And we had to sit still and take it.

The business wouldn't do it just to get a tagged release, they would do it to get a reliable support stream for the software.

You kinda just glossed over the entire gig economy that runs on guru/upwork/freelancer
