Nice project, till the usage of Ethereum that makes a decentralised system centralised.
- ETH_start 3y agoEthereum is the most decentralized transaction ledger in the world, with thousands of nodes distributed across the world, and more client diversity than any other blockchain that I'm aware of: https://clientdiversity.org/ https://clientdiversity.org/ The move to Proof of Stake has also made solo validation accessible to parties other than large enterprises like huge ASIC farms and pools that attract a non-neglible portion of global hashpower.
- sMarsIntruder 3y agoYou can even say that gravity doesn’t exist. Nobody stops you saying that. I don’t even know where to start actually, because there are text portions so wrong that I might think you’re a little bit “uninformed” ;) Ok, let’s say that there is one ecosystem which boils the oceans /s that is really decentralised.
- ETH_start 3y agoThis is not a constructive response.
- sMarsIntruder 3y agoMore than 75% of the Ethereum nodes are hosted under AWS, and that’s not even the main centralisation issue (see Ethereum foundation). So I don’t see how can we “construct” something here.
- ETH_start 3y agoIt's much less than 75%. It's a significant fraction, but the exact same thing applies to Bitcoin. In any case, there are thousands of nodes not on AWS, so the network would be fine in the event that AWS shut down. And the Ethereum Foundation provides a modest sum for research. It controls less than 0.3% of ETH's supply. It's a non-factor in terms of centralization.
