  That is the cycle. From a big picture it is starting to make sense. VCs throw large sums at a problem. Find out the hard problems and move on to other low hangin fruit until they hit a wall. Financial failure maybe the result but human progress moves on. Outside the hype-cycle is long term development feeding off any advancement that can be applied.
