Living Life as a B- Student
- ggm 3y agoIt's a lot harder to get onto a higher degree program successfully if you are a B- because you don't know how to hit the ground running with outcome. I flopped after 6 weeks. I'm close to the end of a 41 year career, well renumerated and happy so I guess it worked out OK, but something B+ and A- get is how to go fuurther (to riff on Ken Kesey's bus) - and academics can sniff a floater a mile off. If there's competition for grants (and there should be) they want a sure bet. It ain't me.
- Quinzel 3y agoThe B- Student has a lot of room for growth. I used to be the B- student. I was a B- student with a type A personality. So my first degree = B- Second = B Third = A- Fourth = A but it’s still in progress Literally today I applied to begin my second Masters degree next year so if I do that, maybe I’ll be an A+ student by then… But ultimately, no one really cares and it doesn’t actually matter what your grades are.
- Simulacra 3y agoI was mostly B, C, and D student. That has not held me back nearly as much as my parents or the school system thought it would. I scored high on the GRE, got into a good graduate program, I have a great job, a great career, and many years ahead of me. Education will only take you so far.
- prirun 3y agoI had to get a B or better in my last class to keep my GPA above the required 2.5 for graduation. I was already working in the computer field since I was 17 and hated school. I think a degree is beneficial for a computer career, but don't believe the GPA matters that much for most people.
