A Rivian owner was in a fender bender. The repair bill was $42,000
- sdflhasjd 3y agoAt what point are insurance premiums going to make these cars prohibitively expensive?
- j0hnyl 3y agoYesterday. The cheapest Rivian is already over $70k.
- sonicshadow 3y agoThese cars are built for elites, it doesnt matter if the mids can afford them.
- vaxman 3y agoNot even close.

- fpdavis 3y agoI had a relatively inexpensive 2019 Leaf that got into a fender bender and it was totaled. It was mostly cosmetic damage and air bags. I really miss that car. With the rise in car prices the amount the insurance company paid wouldn't cover a 2019 replacement and with Covid I no longer drove as much so didn't need a second car for the family.
- pornel 3y agoAirbags are awfully expensive, and on top of that they damage the interior — dash, seats, roof and door lining may all need replacing too. Some cars also have one-time-use seatbelt pre-tensioners.
- vaxman 3y ago“Best damned car on the lot.” :D
