Very good point. As a privacy advocated when I talk about "owning" my data, I'm not talking about getting a cut of a company's revenue pie. I'm talking about portability, control, freedom to choose how I present myself online, freedom to choose not to share data. I explicitly don't want to put a dollar amount on that data if it's at all possible for me to avoid doing so. I usually try to avoid allowing the data to be thought about in economic terms.
