I thought this statement was interesting (especially for the HN crowd). "He was caught by utilizing the type of communication analytics only available to federal law enforcement. Cell phone tower dumps, analyzing these dumps (analytics) to reduce the search space (that is, the number of suspects), new DNA tech, and good old police work helped.

Read the indictment[1], which has all details about burner phones, AOL accounts with fictitious accounts, Amex credit card bills that gave away "google pay" payments to Tinder, which gave away more burner phone numbers.
