What I read between those lines
Meta: There's this small inconvenience for us, that if we decide to ignore the European market instead of fixing it goes away.
They clearly are extorting the EU with their -now I won't work here- techniques.
Good riddance if you ask me
- em-bee 3y agothey knew this going in, so my guess is that they took a shortcut with pushing instragram users into threads in order to make it successful quickly. and now they are quietly working on cleaning up in order to enter the EU market later.
- ahahahahah 3y agoI don't understand your point. Do you think that Meta should be obligated to provide their services everywhere? If I'm running a company, and the laws in Italy would require more work to comply with than the value I would receive from being in Italy, how could you somehow possibly fault me for deciding that the best thing for my company is to just not be available in Italy?
- troupo 3y agoNo. The point it: if you run your business in a country, you comply with the laws. Meta has been doing everything in their power to avoid doing that. See the most recent example: "CJEU declares Meta/Facebook's GDPR approach largely illegal" https://noyb.eu/en/cjeu-declares-metafacebooks-gdpr-approach-largely-illegal https://noyb.eu/en/cjeu-declares-metafacebooks-gdpr-approach...
