I'm glad this is forcing recognition of something that should have been obvious; private platforms should not be relied on for official government communication (or in my opinion used at all by government, but that's a longer argument). In the Netherlands, you're _expected_ to have WhatsApp. So many places rely on it. There are even official WhatsApp neighbourhood-watch signs on streets. It's short sighted and frankly, stupid.
