Can you share some examples hobby projects? I'd like to get into using c++, however I'm having a hard time thinking of things where it makes sense to use it. Most things I'd be interested in have a java/JavaScript/python SDK and C++ is nowhere to be found or mentioned.

You can take a look at my GitHub[0] or GitLab[1] for some projects I've done. Notably a hobby http server, or a compiler, or an emulator, are projects that i enjoy/ed particularly and to which C++ is a good language choice, generally. kv-api is a kv store with a REST api, for example, which is more unusual to write in C++.
