Why doesn't short-term contract to hire work? Seems like it would save a lot of time, with very little risk.
- bryanlarsen 15y agoThat strategy works great in a down economy when jobs are hard to find. But most good programmers have jobs, and are not going to leave a full-time job for a short-term contract.
- chollida1 15y agoTo generalize, most good employee's already have jobs. It's going to be hard to get them to quit inorder to do short term contract work in the hopes that they might get hired by you.
- chrisbennet 15y agoIf you don't already have a job, there is little risk. However, if you have to quit your job to "try out" another job, you most likely want a little more assurance that you'll still have a job in a few months.
