Why does the window manager require any type of GPU?
- nsajko 3y agoBecause window managers don't exist on Wayland. What used to be a window manager is now an entire display server. Talk about well-designed.
- seba_dos1 3y agoBecause Nvidia doesn't implement APIs used by display servers and requires them to write code that's specific to their closed driver.
- kaba0 3y ago> APIs used by display servers Used by the kernel. When you are using proprietary nvidia drivers you literally binary patch your xserver executable. That will obviously not work with other executables.
