I’m just glad im not the only one to wonder this. Perhaps that’s the issue. It feels wrong for some reason despite not being an issue in practice.
- dchftcs 3y agoIndependent hash functions can be as mundane as using different a,b values for ax+b, so as far as the theory is concerned, salting is indeed generating a new hash function.
