You cherry pick history to dismiss Marx. Let’s forget about the crusades, the genocides committed by the west in the name of Christianity, chattel slavery justified by Christianity, the amounts of child abuse covered up by the church, etc…. Yeah, the people claiming to be communists fell to the same human hubris, but that doesn’t make them unique. Beware of Christians claiming they only come in peace. People who are religious are still trying to rob others of their rights, just as you claim “communist” states are robbing others of theirs.

Of course I cherry picked history, to show you that the whataboutism is childishly silly. That human nature causes wars and horrors as well as mediocrity and apathy. That it is possible for anyone to do good or evil, be emphatetic or apathetic or just pathetic. Just like you could claim the failed marxists were not pure, the same can be claimed of any belief system that does not specifically call out for wars or for docility/apathy in the specific context. I was hoping your takeaway would be that marx was silly in that he reduced 3000yrs+ of human belief systems to fairy tales used to be tolerant of your current situation and that somehow every revolution before him was causes by irreligious people. Your willingness to refuse to see past his simple and obvious "im14andthisisdeep" level line of thought says a lot.
