I went off wanting to eat red meat by having heaped table spoonful's of histidine. Histidine is a precursor for histamine which is found in red (dark) meat.
Histidine is grown by bacteria so less methane and other greenhouse gas than dark meat animals and thus potentially less of a red meat industry considering how expensive 1kg of histidine costs compared to 1kg of red meat.
Everyone increasing their histidine intake would be helping to save the planet whilst increasing GDP. Win Win for everyone.
Its tastes lovely in Heinz Tomatoe soup!
