I guess I never really took much of a liking to twitter either, but Mastodon doesn't do anything for me. I really hate big social media, but the mastodon feels like twitter and quora had an ugly baby that everyone is obligated to pretend is cute.

That doesn't make much sense. Twitter is a place where people share their thoughts. Mastodon is also a place (well, places, but that's irrelevant) where people share their thoughts. Sometimes people say interesting things, sometimes not. What's your point?
