Let's not forget the single largest "accidental" release of methane in recorded history [0]. Which is now solidly shown to have been strongly influenced by American interests... via DoD payments of 4.75 Million to Atlantic Diving Supply, Inc. for I kid you not "PRO SAPPER AND EOD EQUIPMENT [CONTRACTING SQUADRON] UKRAINE" (yes, the public military contract RFP literally displays this) [1]
I initially supported the aid to Ukraine, but even ignoring environmental concerns this conflict has lost the plot beyond measure. We are prolonging the war now for the military industrial complex to sell weapons, and it's just a shame. As a democrat I'm sad to see my party championing death and war.

- Dah00n 3y agoI don't think anyone who is willing to look with an open mind on the Ukraine war believe that the aid is primarily to help Ukrainians. It seems pretty clear that the defence industry (what a weasel word! The war industry!) is the primary reason together with hurting Russia. I'm sure civilian Ukrainians are on the list somewhere way down, but I wouldn't want to read it, looking for them while holding my breath!
- 71a54xd 3y agoI couldn't agree more. I have friends who have fought in the region as well as friends in europe and both seem to espouse an opinion that Ukraine is 1) losing the battle and 2) run by despots.
- lisasays 3y ago"PRO SAPPER AND EOD EQUIPMENT [CONTRACTING SQUADRON] UKRAINE" So that's your smoking gun? A random DoD contract to a country with tons of perfectly legitimate needs for this kind stuff (recall much of the Black Sea coast was mined in 2022) - and which BTW was dated several months after pipeline incident? Do you really think this is how black ops are done?
- 71a54xd 3y agoThe date on the contract is for completion when gov accountants cleared the transaction in full (this is how these contracts work) and lines up with the timeline for Nordstream being blown up. This is a company with clear ties to special forces who provides DEEP SEA DIVING EQUIPMENT AND DEMOLITION MATERIALS. Yes, I do believe government employees / politicians are this stupid.
- lisasays 3y agoThe logic here is exceedingly tenuous: "Hmm, you know maybe, just just they might have done it this way. Therefore they did. Plus it got tweeted by a widely respected shill for RT who thinks the Ukrainians bombed their own theater in Mariupol. That's real credibility." But if put it down in CAPITAL LETTERS - that makes is sound much more convincing.
