You beat me to the observation so my follow up question is - what does kernel.org look like after the sun sets on Linus … does it devolve into a collection of maintainers driven by petty grievances? Or accepting vs rejecting PRs and merges based on corporate influence and interests?
- jqpabc123 3y agowhat does kernel.org look like after the sun sets on Linus I'd say the answer depends on Red Hat more so than anyone else. They are the largest single contributor. It's pretty clear that Red Hat is prepared either way --- with or without kernel.org. And their recent moves suggest that they may actually prefer without --- at least in it's current form.
