Quite a coincidence to see this posted, last weekend I installed Lineage OS on my Xperia XA2 and found Magisk was the generally recommended superuser privilege manager. By and large it works fine, although it complains about needing to reflash whenever I start the app, but granting superuser privileges to applications works without issues.
- COGlory 3y agoEvery time you run an OTA for Lineage, it will need to reflash before the reboot. Perhaps that's the issue?
- Semaphor 3y agoSince LOS12 I have not needed to reflash it after OTAs.
- themoonisachees 3y agoMy experience as well.
- tmtvl 3y agoI don't think so because I did the full LOS install, installed the Magisk app, patched the boot image, flashed the patched boot image and went through the sideloading song and dance (partitions, factory reset, LOS, magisk), opened the magisk app again, had it finish the install which required a reboot, and after that it gave me the error. There's no major problem, it's only a little annoying that I have to click away the warning whenever I run the app.
- yownie 3y agohey I have that phone too, have you had a problem with USB OTG devices? specifically a USB-C external screen.
- tmtvl 3y agoI haven't... because I have never tried to use one. Didn't even know there was an issue with it. I also don't know what you mean by an "OTG" device, but I haven't tried to hook up an external screen to my smartphone. Don't ever know why I would, this thing is so enormous you can read on it from low earth orbit.
- themoonisachees 3y agoUSB-otg is the standard that allows usb devices (such as a smartphone) to act as a USB Host to other devices (such as a screen, or a USB stick). It is becoming much more common due to the prevalence of usb-c to usb-c cables, and thus the increasing tries of consumers to make things work because the connectors work (not that I think it shouldn't work, but it doesn't by default )
