This actually hits so close to home. I really like the concept of rust, but every time I sit down to write it, the syntax and the grammar feel... off and unnatural. It really reminds me of how jarring it would be to have to write a book in the style of 1500's English. Like sure, once you get used to it, you can pick it up, but it takes a bit to get into it.
