Resolutions and density have increased, applications have taken advantage of that, in the case of TextMaker to show much more functionality to the user in a way that's easy to interpret.
You normally wouldn't run your word processor at 800x600 either.
- SketchySeaBeast 3y agoThat's really it. There is basically no need to support a 800x600 monitor these days.
- Arrath 3y ago> You normally wouldn't run your word processor at 800x600 either. But there are times when I do! Like having two windows side by side so I can transpose text from one into the word processor.
- dogleash 3y ago> You normally wouldn't run your word processor at 800x600 either. Why not? My 2nd monitor is portrait. The window manager tiles are ~1080x630. I have Word open in one right now. Right above the tile with the browser I'm typing this comment into. But, I know, I said something about a tiling window manager so my options are icky. And I probably have a technical job, double ick. No parallels could be drawn from my experience to what normal people with desk jobs would do or want.
