I think the real issue is that they only had 10 people working on it. I stand by my assertion that Threads is to Twitter what Google Plus was to Facebook. Google Plus showed that people wanted out of Facebook and Google screwed up the implementation. It appears this is the case with Twitter and Threads.
I don’t care how impressive it is that a 10 person team accomplished what they did. What is even more impressive is how bad of a product that Facebook released to the public.

- sidibe 3y agoI feel like your analysis of Facebook and Google Plus is backwards, and people were OK with Google Plus implementation but no one cared to get off Facebook at the time. Google Plus was always a little dead for non-tech crowd, it didn't get big enough to where your friends were using it regularly. People's complaints about Google Plus weren't about the service itself but that it was integrated all over Google properties Threads implemented an MVP while Twitter is shedding users who haven't decided where to go as fast as it can
- synetic 3y agoMy memory is that people wanted to sign up for Google Plus but the real names policy and that it was invite only to begin with killed it. People wanted a reason to leave Facebook. My memory could be wrong though.
