Mercedes Design Boss Says a Three-Box Sedan with an EV Battery Pack “Looks Shit”
- NtochkaNzvanova 3y agoAnd do they think that this: https://www.carscoops.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/2023-Mercedes-EQS-53-AMG-6.jpg https://www.carscoops.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/2023-Me... is a good-looking car? I'm not car guy, but the first thing that popped to mind when I saw it was a slightly stretched-out Ford Focus: https://www.iihs.org/ratings/vehicle/Ford/focus-4-door-sedan/2017 https://www.iihs.org/ratings/vehicle/Ford/focus-4-door-sedan.... Which doesn't seem like a great way to signal "high class automobile".

- more_corn 3y agoThat car (in diesel) was one of the most reliable cars ever made. The car made the look. Forgetting that indicates an utter failure to understand automobile branding. Design is a language. That shape speaks to car people in a way you cannot buy or replicate. It says reliable, durable, and safe. It says still better than anything made since. It’s still the car I’d put my teenage daughter in. Disparaging it should immediately disqualify any expert.
