Ask HN: Is Reddit imposing rate limits too?
I use Teddit to browse Reddit and lately have been getting many "429 - Too Many Requests" errors thrown, which I've never seen before. Has Reddit imposed rate limits similar to Twitter?
- plastic_bag 3y agoIt's happening on Libreddit too. Been getting the "Too Many Requests" error for the past couple of days. But a quick refresh fixes it for me.
- s777 3y agoSadly the quick refresh is no longer working for me, and going through all of the instances on Libredirect, they all seem to be constantly down now. It appears that they are trying to deal with this issue here: https://github.com/libreddit/libreddit/issues/836 https://github.com/libreddit/libreddit/issues/836
- plastic_bag 3y agoYep. I can no longer access Libreddit from any instance. But teddit[0] still seems to be working. [0] https://teddit.hostux.net/ https://teddit.hostux.net/
- pndy 3y agoSeems so; I'm seeing same error all the time now - tho, some instances are able to pull hot posts listing but not new. But refreshing doesn't work for 2 hours (2023-07-12 23:50 CEST/UTC+2 atm)
- pndy 3y agoEdit: should be 07-13, not 07-12
