Ask HN: How does the prospect of AGI affects your retirement planning?
OpenAI now says they expect to see superintelligence this decade. It appears that among AI researchers the expected year of AGI appearance has shifted recently to be closer than it used to be. Did this affect your retirement planning? Are you less financially conservative due to the potential of upcoming technological singularity?

- richk449 3y agoFun question. What does it mean to be "less financially conservative"? Invest more in stocks than bonds? Or buy a fast car? Maybe the right move is to invest in raw materials that are used for the components that go into computers? Finally a justification for being a goldbug? Or maybe invest in companies trying to get humans off earth, in case AGI wipes out life here? Seems like a lousy financial investment, but that's the point in hedges, right? Just buy Nvidia stock? Invest in tin foil?
