With others here I deplore that my schools did not teach a number of important life and career skills including writing. They did teach english, did an excellent job of it. But they did not teach writing FAST. By now I feel a key to productivity (or plain day to day viability) is being able to draft, reorganize, prune, edit and ship out FAST. That deserves teaching. Hilariously, most Google hits in this direction are about handwriting speed. I have to add "productivity" and the like to get anywhere.
