Let us say we have 33% conversion efficiency to electricity. Then we make microwaves in a magnetron at 65% efficiency of a coherent nature and beam that to an antenna on earth that uses GaAsFet synchronous rectification that is also about 50-65% - due to beam spread etc. So ~~1500 watts/M2 = 500 electric watts = 325 watts into the transmitter = 211 radiated = 137 watts useful DC. Better photo cells, multi layer perovskite/silicon might get the initial conversion to 40% = a bit better, as the earth based degradation of perovskites by water is absent. It still looks like a lean burger - for now, it might improve stage b stage?
A better focusable mirror 1Km across might explode minefields/ammunition or incentivise Russian troops to move to a cooler spot - if space wars are on the agenda. Russians would do it if they could??
