Laziness isn't why you procrastinate. This is – CNN
- veqq 3y agoMy summary: Linda Sapadin in “How to Beat Procrastination in the Digital Age" says: - defeatedness/lack of faith in success leads to avoidance, but this comes from different places - "defiers" drown in others' expectations, leading to pessimism. They need ways to feel in control and act (not react). Talking about what's (not) working with stakeholders helps, though defiers tend to feel unable to. - "dreamers" need coherent plans with timelines left they merely wait for fate. To take control of vague dreams and make goals, they should ask: the 5 wh's and how. (N.b. Why, how, what in this order are very useful. Apparently this now goes by the Golden Circle model for leadership.) - perfectionists think everything takes too much effort, because you need impossibly much effort to reach perfection. Magically dealing with that would then solve procrastination - but no suggests are forthcoming. - just visualize completing a task to make doing it seem feasible. IF you believe you can do it, you will. ----- 4/5, would procrastinate by reading and summarizing this again.
