- j45 3y agoSo true. Design of systems inherits and overrules in the long run, if there is a long run for a codebase.
- Swizec 3y agoThe best frameworks are just formalizations of what worked for some people. The worst are formalizations of what some commitee hopes will work.
- j45 3y agoHaha. Understanding software based on it’s origin story is definitely one overlooked aspect. Most developers could t hold themselves back for a year or two to see how much of a framework boils away or can be generalized more elegantly. It’s one of the best lessons I’ve ever learned.
- seabass-labrax 3y agoIt is not necessarily best to learn them in that order though. I think you need to model the domain before the data at the very least.
