The Runescape and Oldschool Runescape wikis forked away from Fandom to become independent 5 years ago and they're considered one of the best video game wikis nowadays, and loved by the community. They did have support from Jagex with funding though which Mojang/Microsoft may not be open to, which makes fully independent harder.
- zeeZ 3y agoI consider the Guild Wars wikis some of the best in the industry. The developer provides the platform, the community the content. After over 15 years I'm always surprised how good we have it when I'm looking for facts about other games.
- JulesRosser 3y agoThe Unofficial Elder Scrolls Pages is another great example. It looks the same as it did 10 years ago. Not sure how they are funded though. https://en.m.uesp.net/wiki/UESPWiki:About https://en.m.uesp.net/wiki/UESPWiki:About
