Tell HN: Done in 15 Minutes (Journal)
Hey HN,
I'm a huge fan of timeboxing. Whenever I notice that I don't make a lot of progress, either by procrastinating or something else, I'm falling back to time-boxing my tasks. While ideally I'd love to get everything done in 15 minutes, sometimes things take longer. But what I noticed is that stepping back usually helps you to accelerate. If something takes longer than 15 minutes, I do at least one other task in between, before I resume work on that particular task.
Sometimes I also squeeze more than one thing into 15 minutes. In this case I'm starting my first 15 minutes block of the day writing this post, but also assembling a task list for the day.
I will also try to keep posting my tasks here, but I might sometimes not do it for a few days. Let's see how it goes.

- cheerioty 3y agoOk, first task was not a success yet. Apparently the current config plugin for React Native Maps does not work with the latest versions of Expo. Unless I'm doing something entirely wrong. Let's step away and collect those numbers for the financial reports for our next task.
- cheerioty 3y agoHalfway through the financial report. Would feel a bit unnecessary to switch now as I'm in the flow, so will follow through with that task for another 15 min max instead of just sticking to the system for the heck of it.

But already added more tasks to the list for the day: - Prepare email with proposal for new enterprisy customer - Write article for HackerNoon, Indiehackers, etc. about creating Quests (forms, checklists, workflows) using GPT-4 - Record new gameplay footage (side project) and share on YouTube, Twitter, Instagram
- cheerioty 3y agoTook a break and then recorded some updated footage of the Neo Geo game I'm working on as my "main side-project". Sharing as soon as YouTube is done processing. Jumping on trying to fix that initial Zoom for Google Maps on ReactNative Web.

I should likely just dig a bit deeper into the source of the library, but this does it for me for now.
