My Inspiron made it 7 years before a chip in the battery that identifies the battery as dell authentic died. The battery itself was still 95% good (I mostly used it plugged in, and set the bios so) Still, a laptop without a battery lost many convenience factors, like moving to another room without shutting down. Now I bought a M2 max and am mostly pleased. Still can’t say I’m a huge fan of macOS, but it’s serviceable. I try to get 10 years out of my devices. Fingers crossed.
