This is unfortunately typical of airlines, even post COVID. If the man who bled was suffering from a hemorrhagic fever like Marburg or Ebola, contacting the blood might have infected the man who used the seat next... or the flight attendants, or the people at the airports. This is exactly the sort of event that would allow those infections to spread.
