Just a quick note that Perl doesn’t use an avian raptor, but a velociraptor. It’s about as similar as a bicycle and a velocipede.

- mst 3y agoYep, it originates from Larry Wall commenting many years ago that "perl5 is a velociraptor - what we need now is an acceloraptor" and the quote being rediscovered later ... followed by a lot of us deciding that "not amazingly recent but still epically awesome" worked for us.
