I tried to get chatgpt to draw and describe simple ascii charts and it failed. I also tried to see if it could understand coordinate data, like svg files and it couldn't. I was able to give it and example of coordinates for a simple shape (a triangle) and it deduced the shape. Obviously it doesn't have or pretend to have spatial reasoning abilities, it's interesting to see what it can do anyway and how it breaks down.
- akomtu 3y agoWhen you gave it the triangle shape, how many points did you specify? I doubt it will deduce a shape if you give it a few dozens of points in a random order and not connected any lines, as that requires some abstract thinking. But I totally believe that if you give it 3 points, it will guess the shape. Btw, deducing shapes from points is a good proxy to what a thought is: it's a possible interpolation between observations, and we call such interpolations "meanings".

- version_five 3y agoJust 3 points in (x,y) form.
- boredemployee 3y agoTry using it to write geometry figures in Processing. You can get some surprising results.
