It's crazy that you think that actually makes sense in practice. Yeah you can put the numbers out there and it may "seem" correct but in reality that is ridiculous logic.
- zokier 3y agoAnd that is just one factor in having pre-emptive laptop renewal cycle. In general it makes IT happier to have more homogenous fleet, makes managing things easier, possible to have spare parts at hand etc etc. It also removes the need of negotiations if someone "deserves"/needs new laptop or not, which might otherwise be discussion wasting the workers, IT depts, and possibly managers time.
