Fair question. I don't actively seek it out but I come across a bit of it on Reddit. Sad to say, its engaging on a primal level, much like how people slow down to view a car crash when they're driving by.
I used to browse the subreddit r/trashy which at first I found funny, but then after seeing the content for a while, I realized its just making fun of people or showing me examples of Confederate racists. I do like r/tiktokcringe because there is a lot of good hearted humorous content, but there too, you see examples of people being jerks.
- drcongo 3y agoThanks for answering. I asked as someone who hates Reddit, YouTube, Instagram and TikTok so genuinely never sees any of this stuff.

Or they slow down because the crash causes them to doubt the condition of the road; there may be debris strewn around they need to avoid. A lane may be closed too. When a road is saturated to capacity, anything that gets people to slow down a little bit will cause a chain reaction that snowballs into a full traffic jam. Even slight perturbations without lane closures can cause traffic jams: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7wm-pZp_mi0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7wm-pZp_mi0
