Those shot towers are all around Harvard
- simonblack 3y ago"microscopic". At that size, their terminal velocity would be very slow. Ideal for your 'shot tower' effect. Wake me when they find an actual working machine made by aliens.

- ChainOfFools 3y agoCan bring in boatloads of grant money = can attract money from non-traditional sources eager to be part of the scene (i.e. new soft power money in china) = is comfortable working the midbrow media to build their personal brand, delegate all actual work to postdocs needing career impact fsctor bootstrap = occasional forays into quackery like this come with the territory of this personality and are not only tolerated but will increase
