The big question: what can he say? Can you be honest when thousands are in rage?
1. The kid was killed for no good reason, period. This is easy to say and most people will agree. He committed a crime, but the cop overreacted.
2. Cops in France target people of African origin in a different way. Whatever the French government says, that's the truth.
3. Why do they do that? Because crime is more prevalent among these people. This is already a touchy subject and some people will flatly deny that flexing stats in all possible ways.
4. Why is crime among that groups so high? Here we start to deal with the real problem and some solutions to it. But the truth is, nobody has a good solution. If someone came up with that, it would have been implemented a long time ago. But nothing works. And it doesn't even seem like it's going to be better at all.
So what can he say? He comes up with some crap about video games that everybody knows is bullshit, but this neither hurts his electorate nor the people on the streets.
