You might expect politicians from previous generations to be clueless and paranopid about this, but Macron must surely have played video games himself as a youth.
I'm sure thorough research would show that violent video games are like porn, and actually reduce the incidence of real-world aggression.
- PartiallyTyped 3y agoI don't think this is a Hanlon's razor, not on Macron's part at least. Some other commenter said that Macron said people were chasing a rush found in video games, and not that the people wanted to reenact or imitate them. If that is true, then incompetence is on reporters, and not Macron himself.
- m5r 3y agoA study about this from researchers based in Netherlands was recently linked to on HN. They found a correlation between a drop in juvenile crimes following a GTA release.
