I think we'll see more and more of this argument being made by the traditional auto manufacturing types. Tesla seems to have figured out how to make an affordable EV, and they make margin on every sale. They're also aggressively dropping the prices, making Teslas ever more attractive. The other manufacturers mostly lose money on every sale, so they're not eager to drop prices. Tesla's already got the 'best selling' title, something unthinkable a few years ago. So I won't be surprised to suddenly see more articles about how hybrids are better.
