Spare me the sob stories for the wealthiest person on earth (the son of people who made their fortunes exploiting impoverished Africans), not understanding the costs and realities (remember, he waived his due diligence requirements) of a company when deciding to spend nearly 50 billion dollars on it.
Spending slightly more than the equivalent of the entire net worth of Nike's founder (the 26th wealthiest person in the world) on a social media platform known to be loosing money is quite possibly one of the dumbest things I've ever seen in my 30+ years on this planet.
Twitter grew organically, as did Reddit, by having open access - anyone who wanted to see the content had the ability to do so. If Twitter was locked to non-account-holders from the get-go, they wouldn't have scaled to anywhere close to the level it did to be worth IPO'ing, much less being taken private for the amount it was.

It's because he blew 50 billion on twitter that he can do whatever he wants. >the son of people who made their fortunes exploiting impoverished Africans You have to be a seriously deranged person to hold someone accountable for the sins of their father. Ever heard those stories of North Korea where they punish an entire bloodline for one family members mistake. You're mentally on par with that.
