It would be super annoying if it ends up co-opting the word "thread" in general.

  The way people already use the word "thread" to describe an online conversation is exactly why they picked the name.

    I'll give Zuck that it also rolls off the tongue really well compared to, say, Mastodon or really anything so far from the federated multiverse. Rethread (retweet), thread (twitter) feed, etc. Having a catchy name is among the most important steps to success.

      Yeah "toot" is not great and "post" isn't specific enough.
